The new debut continues Breitling’s series of exclusive collaborations with the Royal Air Force, as the only luxury watch brand granted permission to feature the distinctive emblems of its celebrated aerobatic team. Their historical partnership dates from the 1930s, when the brand’s precision on board chronographs were supplied to RAF to ensure precise calculations of distance and fuel during the most challenging flying conditions. The design brings together Breitling’s greatest strengths in military pilot watches - innovative technology and design efficiency, a robust ceramic case, and a sleek retro aesthetic - for all round wearability. Crafted from satin-brushed black ceramic with titanium parts, the 44MM case features a vibrant blue dial, adorned with baton hour indexes and hour and minute hands coated with Super-LumiNova for high visibility in dark climates. The watch is assisted by a red-tipped central chronograph seconds hand and three chronograph sub-dials for 1/4th seconds, 30 minutes and 12-hour tracking. Additional features include a second track around the outer edge of the dial, and it’s complete with the iconic Breitling branding and protected with a glare-proof, cambered sapphire crystal glass cover. It's complemented by a rugged black unidirectional bezel, adorned with aviation-inspired, stencil numerals which lend a technical and original touch of style. The special grip-pattern on the crown and chronograph pushers means it can be easily operated wearing gloves. The chronometer-certified, self-winding Breitling 01 calibre is protected by an ultra-sturdy case, water-resistant to 300M and is geared up for the most extreme missions thanks to its rugged construction, screwed-in push piece guards and solid screw-lock crown with non-slip grip. Powered by 45 jewels and beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, it has an impressive power reserve of 70 hours. The co-ordinating blue calfskin leather military-style strap is known for its softness and ability to look good over time, and it secures to the wrist with a titanium folding clasp for the ultimate comfort and easy release.
