Celebrating Breitling's partnership with sustainable clothing company Outerknown, the latest addition to the Breitling family is the Superocean Automatic 44 Outerknown - an eco-friendly design dedicated to modern-day explorers, co-designed with American pro-surfer Kelly Slater. Outerknown are committed to improving the environmental conditions for the entire planet. The watch features a Breitling special: the strap is crafted from ECONYL® yarn, an innovative material created from nylon waste, one source of which is discarded fishing nets pulled out from oceans around the world. Like Breitling, Outerknown works with Ocean Conservancy to raise awareness of the problem of marine waste and to motivate individuals to take action to clean up the oceans. Starting with its round, 44 mm satin-brushed stainless steel case, the matte green dial offers optimal legibility and features a date aperture located at the 3 o'clock position, keeping you punctual in your daily life. The mixed baton and numeral indexes and hour and minute hands are steel-toned and set with a white luminescent fill, for high visibility in the dark. The white second and minute track surround’s the outer edge and the tachymeter scale along the bezel is on-hand to measure distance based on speed. Finished with the iconic Breitling branding, ensuring the stamp of quality and all protected with a cambered sapphire crystal glass cover, glare proofed on each side. The unidirectional green bezel is the most distinctive element of the diver's watch, measuring your diving time in an effective manner. The case back is screwed-in and the crown is screw-locked with two gaskets, keeping it water resistant up to 1,000 m. Finished with the green ECONYL® yarn Nato strap and a tang buckle to ensure a secure and comfortable fit on the wrist. At the heart of this stunning timepiece is the Breitling 17 calibre, an automatic movement with 25 jewels beating at 28,800 v.p.h and an impressive power reserve of 38 hours.
