Celebrating Breitling's partnership with sustainable clothing company Outerknown, the latest addition to the family is the Breitling Superocean Héritage II Chronograph 44 Outerknown - an eco-friendly design dedicated to modern-day explorers. Outerknown are committed to improving the environmental conditions for the entire planet. The watch features a first for Breitling: the strap is crafted from ECONYL® yarn, an innovative material created from nylon waste, one source of which is fishing nets from oceans around the world. Like Breitling, Outerknown – which was co-founded by surfing icon Kelly Slater – works with Ocean Conservancy to raise awareness of the problem of marine waste and to motivate individuals to take action to clean up the oceans. Starting with its round, 44 mm black DLC-coated stainless steel case, the bold blue dial features matching blue 30 minute and 12 hour chronograph counters at 12 and 6 o'clock respectively and a quarter-second seconds hand at 9 o'clock, adding functionality to form. A day & date window is also located at the 3 o'clock position, keeping you punctual in your daily life. The baton indexes and unusual-shaped hour and minute hands (triangular for the hours and sword-shaped for the minutes) are steel-toned and set with a luminescent fill, for high visibility in the dark. The white seconds and minutes track surrounds the outer edge and the tachymeter scale along the bezel is on-hand to measure distance based on speed. Finished with the iconic Breitling branding, ensuring the stamp of quality and all protected with a cambered sapphire crystal glass cover, glare proofed on each side. The uni-directional black bezel is the most distinctive element of the diver's watch, measuring your diving time in an effective manner. The caseback is screwed-in and the crown is screw-locked with two gaskets, keeping it water resistant up to 200 m (660 ft.), which is ideal for every day wear. Finished with the blue ECONYL® yarn strap and a tang buckle to ensure a secure and comfortable fit. At the heart of this stunning timepiece is the Breitling 13 calibre, an automatic movement with 25 jewels beating at 28,800 v.p.h and an impressive power reserve of 48 hours.
