Diving into the core of the Pelagos FXD, the case is crafted from a black carbon composite with a matte finish, which is lightweight, tough, and resilient. The 42MM round timepiece is adorned with a matte-blue dial, red accents on the Pelagos logo and second hand, and a high-performance luminescent material on the dot hour indexes. The characteristic angular hands, known as snowflake, are also luminous to maintain high visibility in dark waters. Finished with the iconic TUDOR branding and protected with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal cover. The bidirectional titanium bezel has a black carbon composite insert to coordinate with the case, with a 60-minute retrograde graduation for navigation by successive stages. Underwater navigation entails restarting a countdown at each change of course. The anticlockwise graduation and luminescence of the bezel of this model make it easy to set up and monitor each countdown, by aligning the time set for the section to be covered on the bezel with the minute hand. When the minute hand arrives opposite the triangle, the team changes course, and the diver in charge of timing begins the next countdown. The matching blue fabric strap has a self-gripping fastening system and it's complete with a folding clasp, ensuring a secure and comfortable fit when wearing. It's powered with a self-winding mechanical Calibre MT5602 movement and has an impressive 70-hour power reserve.
