The TAG Heuer Monaco has had a few visual tweaks and functional updates in its half-century history, but today it features a technological first – it’s now powered by an in-house automatic manufacture movement for the first time ever. Like the Formula 1 motor race and the city it's named after, the Monaco Men's Watch by TAG Heuer is the world’s first automatic chronograph which became legendary after Steve McQueen sported it in the classic 1970 Hollywood racing film “Le Mans.” It's the ultimate watch for those living life in the fast lane. Starting with its instantly recognisable square, 39mm stainless steel case; the fine-brushed and highly polished design features a ruthenium dial. Ruthenium has a dynamic iridescent colour that changes in different shades of light. The dial is adorned by rhodium-plated indexes and luminescent hour and minute hands, with a red central second hand adding a touch of vibrancy. Updated black chronograph counters sit at 3 and 9 o’clock, keeping time for ¼ second and 30 minutes, and a date aperture can be seen at 6 o’clock, ideal for maintaining punctuality. The iconic TAG Heuer Monaco branding completes the dial and it’s protected by a sapphire crystal glass cover and a transparent case back that allows you to see the intricate craftsmanship within. This edition retains the styling of the original watch; the crown features the brand’s embossed logo and it’s offset by two block pushers, so you can start, stop and reset the chronograph function without interfering with the watch. The grey dial is complemented by a black alligator leather strap which is known for its softness and ability to look good over time, and it fastens securely to the wrist with a folding clasp. Powering this TAG Heuer is the Monaco Calibre 12, it has a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and an impressive 40-hour power reserve and a 100 m water resistance. Complete with a TAG Heuer 2-year international warranty, it’s presented in stunning branded packaging which is ideal for gifting or storing. As the final edition of the Monaco Calibre 12, only 1,000 of these models exist and the stainless-steel caseback of each watch is engraved with its limited-edition number. A design classic beloved by connoisseurs, the instantly recognizable Monaco is cooler and more cutting-edge than ever.
