Expertly crafted from highly polished and brushed stainless steel with 18CT rose-gold elements, this mid-sized 44 MM watch is inspired by the Frecce Tricolori chronograph, which had been developed and launched in 1983. Inside, the jet-black dial is adorned with 18CT rose-gold and luminescent indexes and hands, for high visibility in dark climates. Featuring a slim chronograph second hand and a minute track surrounding the outer edge of the dial. Three black-eye sub-dials complete the dial’s core, with 1/4th second chronograph, 30-minute and 12-hour totalizers, a moon-phase calendar and a semi-perpetual calendar mechanism that needs adjusting just once every leap year – or every 1,461 days. Finished with the iconic Breitling branding and protected with a glare-proof, cambered sapphire crystal glass cover. True to the original Chronomat, the rider tabs protect the sapphire crystal. The ones at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock are interchangeable, so the wearer can use them for countdowns as well as count-ups. Complemented by a steel bezel with a black and 18CT rose-gold ceramic insert – a first on a Chronomat. The Breitling Manufacture 19 Calibre is protected by an ultra-sturdy case, with a screw-locked crown, it’s water-resistant to a depth of 100 m and has an impressive 42-hour power reserve. The co-ordinating Rouleaux-inspired black rubber strap fastens with a butterfly clasp for a secure and comfortable fit when wearing. The new rubber strap is created with state-of-the-art injection moulding techniques. Its three distinct textures – matte, slick, and woven-looking – give it remarkable depth.
