The Swiss luxury watchmakers at TAG Heuer and the German sportscar manufacturer Porsche have announced their new partnership: an authentic alliance between two brands whose common DNA in motorsports and racing forges a holistic and long-term collaboration ranging from competition to product development. This new timepiece; the TAG Heuer Carrera Porsche Chronograph, is unveiled as first celebration of the iconic brands and is the first step in a relationship that will see developments in watches and cars over the next few years. Expertly crafted from satin brushed stainless steel, the large, more robust sized 44 MM round case contains a textured grey dial with an asphalt effect, created especially for this watch, perfectly expressing a passion for the road. The dial is adorned with steel and luminescent hour indexes for high visibility when driving at night and matching Arabic numeral hour markers, inspired by the numbers on the dashboard of a fine Porsche automobile. Other features include a slim chronograph second hand and three sub-dials at the 3, 6 and 9 o'clock positions; functions for ¼ second, 30 minutes and 12-hour counters. An elegant ceramic black tachymeter fixed bezel surrounds the dial, adding to its sporty design. All protected with a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass cover which eliminates reflections. The case is complete with a matching transparent case back which allows you to see the intricate craftsmanship within; it has been redesigned in tribute to Porsche’s celebrated steering wheel. This ground-breaking timepiece is presented on an interlocking steel bracelet reflecting streamlined racing design, it secures to the wrist with a folding clasp which is equipped with double safety pushbuttons for robust security. This handsome, Swiss-made timepiece holds an in-house Heuer 02 automatic movement - signatures of improved chronograph timekeeping and high-quality manufacture movements - with an impressive 80-hour power reserve. It has a 100 m water resistance which is perfect for everyday wear.
