To mark 50 years of its chronographs, TUDOR is relaunching its Black Bay Chrono model in stainless-steel, with a reworked case and two dial colour options with contrasting sub-counters in the purest tradition of the sports chronograph. Combining the king of the racetrack - the chronograph - with the brand's aquatic heritage, this smart yet sporty, water-resistant timepiece features a distinctive touch of nostalgia and the spirit of land and sea. The main characteristics are retained in its slim 41MM round stainless-steel case which is equipped with the Black Bay essentials - a domed white opaline dial coupled with black and white accents found on the hands and hour markers which are painted luminescent for high visibility in dark waters. Adopting the iconic TUDOR snowflake hands and dot indexes, the dial is complemented by two black-eye chronograph sub-dials - a small seconds counter at 9 o'clock and a 45-minute counter at 3 o'clock. A date aperture is located at the 6 o'clock position, a monochrome second tracker surrounds the outer edge and the TUDOR logo and branding ensures the stamp of quality. The domed sapphire crystal glass protects the dial and is framed by the fixed steel bezel with a black aluminium disc and tachymetric scale. The matching steel screw-down winding crown and pushers are inspired by the first generation of TUDOR chronographs. Complete with a colour co-ordinating black leather strap with removable bund, known for its ability to look great over time, it’s strong, durable and has a folding clasp with safety catch for a secure fit on the wrist. The automatic Calibre MT5813 that drives the Black Bay Chrono model is certified as a chronometer by the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC), it's a self-winding mechanical movement with a bidirectional rotor system and an impressive 70-hour power reserve.
